awakening is impossible to say, but ill put it this way;
it is like seeing the world in someone Else's eyes, you are more open, and more vulnerable whilst awakening, if you just believe in yourself and take it, it will probably pass much more quickly than if you denied it.
i haven't really given much thought about stopping it... so i dint really know....
think of it as a dream, you cant wake from it unless someone else wakes you from sleep, or the dream ends.
during awakening the vampire in question begins showing signs of the thirst, loss of energy, and usually becomes generally less agreeable. they might withdraw from people, or become closer to certain groups. sometimes they become interested in things they would not have before, such as simple little things like, where does a snakes tail begin? or about subjects such as what happens after we die? will we go to hell or heaven, or just go into blackness, total oblivion?
their mental capacity may increase and their memory becomes sharper, sometimes allowing for more memory to be stored. they become more psychically adept, and able to develop psychic abilities quicker than non-vampires. intuition may increase as well as hearing, vision, or smell, among others.
one might experience odd or disturbing dreams or visions.
you should develop a sensitivity to all types of bright lights, and may become more nocturnal and be able to see better at night.
you may become more flexible or agile, but not beyond reason of the human body(E.g. running at 90 MPH or climbing buildings with your hands, etc.)
some develop skin sensitivity, burning easier in the sun, in my case, 10-15 minutes of exposure causes a burn.
a strong urge to drink blood may overcome you if somebody bleeds or gets cut. sometimes people can sense when females are on their menstrual cycle...
In short, one person becomes somebody else while keeping their conscience. Their mind changes while the body takes the abuse.
Hope i answered some questions.

When it stops will the symptoms also stop? Will it be normal? I read some things online about people attacking their friends and families when they bleed. How can I stop this if it happens to me ? I don't want to hurt them or make them feel scared. Many of my friends are normal people who don't even believe in the magic which surrounds them every day.Can you imagine how would they react if I told them I was a vampire? They wouldn't laugh at me but they'd probably freak out. How can I find others who are going through awakening? Will meditation work? If I see someone and realise he/she is a vampire ( I don't know how) what do I do? Do I talk to him ? What if he/she doesn't know it yet?Seeing somebody with psychic powers and telling them about it is ok because you can prove it through meditation;but how do you prove them they are vampires and that they should be careful around others ? I talked to a person of my family about vampires and she told me she doesn't know much about them...not even if they exist in OUR world. I did some research on vampires and I read many things. Can you tell me what is true about vampires and what is wrong?I mean from what people say about "traditional vampires". I 've realised that wanting to drink blood isn't a lie but what about others thingf? For example if I don't drink it will anything happen? After the awakening how do I know what kind of vampire I am? I read that there isn't only one kind. Will my powers as a witch be affected? I am an empath and now I can feel other's feeling stronger but it's like they ' re all confused ( sorry I don't really know the right world...that's the world we use in Greece...I'm really sorry). Will it be like this or will it go back to normal?
I'm sorry for asking you all these questions and thank you for answering to them. I really hope it isn't too much trouble.

well you should look at sphynx cat's page it's incredible helpful. as far as traditional vampire's you can't turn anyone there are rituals but they end only causing great harm to the person casting the ritual and the vicutum. as being witch it will probably increase your powers. as far as what kind of vampire you are you have to figure that one out it took me years to ecept that I'm a psi vamp the main thing that lead me to figuring that is my blood lust is to irregular. you can find others going through what your going on this site and you can talk about what your going through freely. the symptoms you get use to them and you'll be somewhat normal. it's unlikely for you to attack your friends and family if you have bloodlust. meditation helped me tremendusly and also writing down in a journal about it is a good way it release your frustration. well if you know and you don't get a bad vibe feel free to talk to them just be cautious whom you reveal what you are to people there are those out there who are willing to hurt you. yes this site can and I've had alot of real life experiances with vampires and other kin. if you don't drink blood from what I've heard you become very irratable. empath thats cool they maybe affected I'm not sure I have met a witch-vamp hybrid before but he didn't tell me much but he could read people very well. it's no problem thats what this site is for feel free to contact me anytime

I read some things online about people attacking their friends and families when they bleed. How can I stop this if it happens to me ?Basically, I take the proactive responsible approach: 1) B-complex daily (keeps things under a surprising amount of control) 2) Rare - and I do mean RARE! - steaks of good quality 3) Avoidance - when possible - of situations that may be a trigger if you know in advance The steaks I recommend not so much for blood content (most of the liquid in a steak isn't, really) but for the protein - because NOT having protein in my diet drives me buggy - and to satisfy the uirge to chew things for a while. My preferred level is "cool red centers" - most restaurants do "cool pink" or "warm pink" which is more cooked than I prefer it. I realize a b-complex may not be available in your area (you said you're in Greece) so you may need to order it from an online retailer such as Amazon.com or the like. Will meditation work? It can work to center yourself mentally - which helps, though not directly. If you are more mentally "all together" then things will be easier. Accepting it - rather than fighting it - also makes it easier. The more you fight it, the more you're fighting a battle on two fronts - fighting to maintain control, AND fighting to not feel like you're going to go crazy at the same time. If I see someone and realise he/she is a vampire ( I don't know how) what do I do? Do I talk to him ? What if he/she doesn't know it yet?My advice is usually to say nothing - chances are very likely for one of two things: (1) they don't know, and will think you're crazy, or (2) they don't WANT someone to bring it up because they don't want other people to know. Rarely, you may meet someone who would be willing to talk in person on a first meet, but that's usually someone who's way more open about it - and most of us, honestly, are NOT that open about it in public. For this reason alone, it's usually easier to arrange to meet people via an online medium - trying to start face to face and in person, it's easy to be mistaken, or make a fool of yourself, even if your guess is correct. (For example, I would deny it in public if some stranger came up to me about it and I didn't know them in advance....) For example if I don't drink it will anything happen? After the awakening how do I know what kind of vampire I am? Well, for me, when I don't feed regularly, I feel like absolute and utter crap after a while. I won't die, but there's days when I sure feel like it. Similar lack of feeding effects will happen with both psychic vampires as well as sanguine - blooddrinking - vampires. The awakening process is more of an overall term for the process of self-discovery where you read things and determine what seems to fit in your case. Basically, yes you'll know what type - but as things happen in your life, you may find it changes - either temporarily or permanently - due to stress, bad nutrition, chronic ailments, etc. I've seen posts from people who have mentioned this, so I know it does happen, but I don't know how commonly it happens. How long it can take will vary, depends on the mindset of the awakening person, and how well they can deal with the oddities that come up. Will my powers as a witch be affected? I suppose that depends on what those 'powers' are and how they work now... I am an empath and now I can feel other's feeling stronger but it's like they're all confusedA lot of vampires seem to have some level of empathy, whether they realize it or not. It would not surprise me to find that existing empathy gets stronger - I think it's a useful skill, actually. I doubt it will drop back to prior "normal" levels, so you'll have to take time to learn to sift through the new information you're picking up on in addition to what you may have been picking up on before. It DOES get easier with time, but you have to work at it. On my site, you can also read my [ vampire FAQs] page as well as the [ Anecdotes] and [ Awakening] pages for more information.

it tis true that sometimes, after i get in a bloodlust, ill either be worked up about it and hyperactive/paranoid, or just plain out be an incredibly horrible person, even on the site which is not normal for me.
i usually have my symptoms well under control... USUALLY.... well unless someone close to me bleeds then i just go insane holding myself back, avoiding sight of the person for a while or even having to go in a different room to restrain myself from tackling my girlfriend and lapping at her nosebleed....
err... out of line...

thank you all . sphynxcatvp , by b-complex do you mean the vitamins?
But if I don't fight it I feel more like I'm gonna go crazy...if I try to stop it I can sometimes manage...
I know I asked if meditation could help but when you were going through awakening were you able to meditate? I can't concentrate enough although I've been meditating for a long time.I become tired from trying... sooner than I used to when I first started. How can I make it feel less like now? You said that I should accept it ,but if I accept it ,wouldn't it be more dangerous? And wouldn't it feel worse than now without fighting it?
Since vampires need pranic energy to survive, if they know how to use this energy and take more than they already need can they heal faster or live longer? I read that vampires have enhanced mental and psychic abilities. The mind is a powerful thing. You will not feel pain until your brain tells you that something hurts, likewise why should your regeneration and really age until your brain tells the nerves responsible to slow or cease cell/hormone production. So...if a vampire knows the right way to use energy and make his/her brain (emmm I don't really know how to say it sorry ;if its wrong please correct me.)"obey" to his/her wishes through meditation can they live longer?
I'm sorry if that sounds stupid to you...I'm trying to find the benefits instead of just thinking about the drawbacks.
Bomb...how did you restrain yourself? Although I've felt like wanting blood today my sister cut her hand by accident and when I saw the blood I couldn't think. It was like it was drawing me although there wasn't much. And I felt like I wanted it...thankfully she went to another room. What do I do if it happens again? She is my little sister I don't want to hurt her. I read that blood has a sweet smell to vampires. The things is, I couldn't smell it...is it wrong? I just felt I needed it when I saw it...
crypticdarkness09 you said you've had real experiences with vampires...how is a vampire after awakening? Do they still need blood? Can they restrain themselves more or do they need more blood?

it might be possible to have a faster healing process, although it wouldnt be instant like in the movies. living longer.... thats a deep question... there is much skepticism on that but there is a website that is researching indefinite life expansion technologies... imminst.orgwhen i mean restrain myself... i meant day to day things, for example when sitting in class ive learned to block out the thirst in public, but although it still occurs soemtiems, though not often. if someone gets cut or starts bleeding heavily it becomes rather difficult and i usually cant. i basically try not to think about blood. the smell for blood usually needs to be developed by yourself, although sometimes one just naturally has it. in my case i had to develop it. if you really want to be able to smell it, next time you get cut put the cut up next to your nose and close your eyes and smell deeply. focus on it, and it will come to you if you have the capacity. please just dont go and cut yourself on purpose though, thats not what im trying to promote. And for the last question after awakening, yes we need blood, but we dont NEED it to live, its more of just to live in comfort. if we dont get it, or some type of energy, it becomes more difficult to run a life.

Hi everyone,
Recently i have found myself becoming quite sick more regularly than i find normal, i approached my doctor he said that i was fine and just to try a healthier diet and exercise. For six months now i have been going to the gym 5days a week and eating healthy yet i still become run down and sick, i don’t feel the need to sleep at night, i become more awake and active, and i have found that i have a growing appetite even when full :S To feed my curiosity i decided to Google symptoms and things i have been going through and found sites similar to this one, i found the content of these sites extremely interesting but shrugged it off because of the recent hyp of all that twilight Sh... But now i find myself thinking about it and researching it more and more this possibility seems weird to me but i keep wanting to come back to it...
I was just wondering your thoughts thats all, i hope i haven waisted your time.
Thank you, Justin

thank you all . sphynxcatvp , by b-complex do you mean the vitamins?Yes, the vitamins. Sorry, I didn't realize that might mean something else in your country. But if I don't fight it I feel more like I'm gonna go crazy...if I try to stop it I can sometimes manage...Ah, I meant "don't fight it" in terms of "accept it as part of yourself" more than "don't excercise restraint". Sorry for the confusion. No, accepting it as part of yourself doesn't make it more dangerous - just means you can concentrate on restraining yourself from doing something you'll regret later. I know I asked if meditation could help but when you were going through awakening were you able to meditate?I always had lousy luck meditating - I ended up falling asleep instead. It's only lately that meditation actually seems to be a viable thing other than a means to attempt sleep. Since vampires need pranic energy to survive, if they know how to use this energy and take more than they already need can they heal faster or live longer? ...So...if a vampire knows the right way to use energy and make his/her brain"obey" to his/her wishes through meditation can they live longer?Well, researchers say that meditation can reduce stress, which in and of itself can extend one's lifespan just by not "running in overdrive" all the time. (Run a car with the RPM's too high and it burns through fuel like crazy, and puts extra wear and tear on the engine. Same principle here.) Supplementing your diet with nutritional supplements will also help; not every place has healthy food. (Here in the USA, we're notorious for fast food, junk food, and all kinds of unhealthy stuff.) I'm trying to find the benefits instead of just thinking about the drawbacks.Heh, no worries. Whether something is a benefit or a drawback really REALLY depends on the person and their mindset. I have a high degree of photosensitivity, but I've never been one to try and get a suntan, plus I *like* working nights, so really, it's not a huge loss to me. Social life's a bit of a drag, but I've been doing most of my socializing online anyway, so... I read that blood has a sweet smell to vampires. The things is, I couldn't smell it...is it wrong? What you smell depends in large part upon how sensitive your nose is to begin with. If it's a new smell, you may need to get closer to separate the new smell from other familiar smells. If your nose is highly sensitive (i.e., you can sniff a cookie and come up with a list of at least most of the ingredients) then it'll be easier to pick up than if you have a more average sense of smell or a dull sense of smell. More sensitive sense of smell usually goes along with a more sensitive sense of taste. how is a vampire after awakening? Do they still need blood? Can they restrain themselves more or do they need more blood?Being able to more easily restrain yourself DOES come with time - you get used to it, you learn to redirect your mind to something else, you learn to avoid the triggers, you basically learn better coping methods over time. Yes, we do need to feed (but again, you won't die if you don't, you'll just feel like death warmed over on some days) after awakening - you still need to eat after growing up, don't you? Body needs fuel, no matter how you look at it, and just does really poorly without it.

ok im on a dif. computer so i should be fine.
Justin, are you sure you dont have a blood cell condition? this could be why youre getting sick often, i mean my own immune system is very hardy... off topic...
Research is very good for you, its how i got to my position i am in now, helping you. There is no twilight on this forum, so no worries there.
i wouldnt neccesarily apply the sickness to vampirism, but curiosity is helpful, whon knows you might even be able to help a couple people on the site if you become good enough.
the first topic on top of page 4 should explain some symptoms of an awakening.
also some good sites for research are Sphynxcats page, sanguinarius, and psivamp.org, they should give you plenty of information on the subject of vampirism. the URLS are on the left sidebar on any page.

Great thanks for your insight i got full blood work done, and i seem to be fine... is feeding something that would come naturally to the awakened or is it something that is learnt over time. Is feeding an option to try perhaps it will help or is more in-depth than just giving it ago? I was reading the vampire codex and it explains the best way to come in control of your own energy is if you are completely drain by another awakened.. i guess it kinda forces you into your true self?
Thanks again

feeding isnt learned, but it isnt forced either.
if someone gets cut, you will have urges to drink blood, but they are optional, it can be resisted, though sometimes difficult.
think of it as drugs for vampires, it can be quite addicting.
