symptoms of awakening include but are not limited to; - [Sang/Psi]Increased sensitivity to light, in eyes and skin, e.g. sunburn easier, flourescence hurts.
- [Sang/Psi] Tendency to lean towards a nocturnal lifestyle instead of diurnal
- [Sang/Psi] The 6 senses may become more acute, but not neccesarily all of them, e.g. hearing may be better than sight.
(the 6 senses are: Sight, Hearing, Touch, Taste, Smell, and Intuition.
- [Sang/Psi] Intuition is almost always more heightened when awakening.
- [Sang/Psi] The world may seem different than usual, while still being the same.
- [Sang/Psi] The individual may withdraw from friends and family, and general human contact altogether.
- [Sang/Psi] A depression may occur during awakening.( but do not take this as a symptom alone, because depression happens all the time.)
- [Sang/Psi] An awakening vampire may experience rapid mood swings and temper flares, there might also be a complete personality change.
- [Psi] The person may begin to see auras.
- [Psi] The person could experience an energy overload around big crowds.( explained as the feeling of needing to "get away")
- [Psi] When going prolonged periods of time away from people, may begin to feel weak.
- [Sang] Will experience the first symptoms of "the thirst" which can be described as a complete and utter lack of saliva and fluids in your mouth and throat region, which can be painful it not sated.
- [Sang] may or may not be able to smell blood. I cannot explain what it smells like to someone who doesnt know, because it has its own smell.
- [Sang/Psi] will find a natural attraction towards other latent vampires, and will want to ask questions and receive answers.( after all thats why your reading this, isn't it?)
- [Psi] Will be able to control energy drainage more freely, and learn how to use shielding techniques.
- [Sang/Psi] May feel more connected to the arcane, resulting in an easier use of magick.
This is quite a comprehensive list of symptoms but here is some other facts: Vampirism can be passed down genetically and is the most common form of latent vampirism. although it doesnt have to be family, it can pop up randomly, such is the story of Lilith in the bible.(not going to go into detail on the story) You do not have to be a certain religion to be a latent vampire. Vampires are not immortal. We can not fly, or shape-shift, contrary to popular belief. "the thirst" can be complicated to control sometimes, as any other liquids besides blood will just result in having to use the bathroom a lot more, although there are some things that can hold it off, or temporarily satisfy it, but it will always be back later. it is possible for a sanguinarian to convert to a psychic means of feeding, although doing so would take an immense amount of time, as you would have to just ignore the thirst for extended periods of time, maybe even years. by doing so your body would find the energy in any way possible, albeit drawing upon psychically. theoretically, one could go without drinking blood, if it is kept under control, though it wouldn't be particularly comfortable.

umm.. one question about psi-vampires, they feed off of energy from living creatures, but how do they do that,? just being around living creatures..? Do they just know how? like instinct or what..?

if you are left an unawakened psychic vampire, your body will jsut naturally draw the energy from around you, though the energy drainage could be constant and may damage the target. otherwise it will be taught how to drain.

About how many of the above signs do you need to have before you should start realizing you're awakening?

five or more in my opinion but even then I would get myself checked out at a doctor's office.

Nah, nuthin' to be scared of. Getting yourself checked out by a doctor is good advice though - wouldn't want to find out down the line you've been ignoring something like diabetes that could seriously come back and bite you in the ass later. Unless you have a family history or obvious signs of anything unusual medically, a standard "CBC with differential" and "Complete/Comprehensive Metabolic Panel" both (1) is covered by most insurances and (2) should see anything wrong that's more routine (diabetes, organ issues, anemia issues, that sort of thing - markers for these will all show up on one of those two tests.)

Is it posssible to be vampire or otherkin and have human medical problems? Probably a weird question but I'm getting a huge battery of blood tests done to check for conditions and what not, and for one I'm incredibly nervous, for two I wonder if I have a condition does that mean I'm not awakening? Also, did anyone just know when they were awakening? Like a gut feeling or some kind of intense intuition?
