a Therian is one who has the power to "transform" into an animal, particularly a werewolf.
Wether or not this is even possible, is still debatable.

Fae does not always equal fairie to the ones who identify as fae - the reason being (as explained to me) that there are more types of fae than just fairie. Therian is the more accepted-within-that-community term for those who identify as an animal type, the same as folks like me identify as vampires. In the therian community, there seem to be variable flavors of how it's expressed, based on individual experiences... Someone who's therian doesn't always experience therian instincts 24/7, or experience them strongly enough to notice. Some seem to identify more strongly with the mythological stereotypes and don't *appear* to have both feet on the ground, while others are more self-aware. Keep in mind, this is all understanding I've picked up in conversations with therians. I'm not therian myself, so I can't make a from-personal-experience statement in this realm. (Vampires - in comparison - usually are cognizant of at least something vampiric 24/7, so we have to get a handle on things a LOT quicker before we do something stupid or go stark raving loony. Well, those of us who aren't loony to begin with, lol...)
